A new app has been developed that could revolutionise the way data is collected and analysed for marketeers. “Field Agent” brings the internet survey to the smartphone and it also goes one step further and encourages users (called “Agents”) to go out and collect field data such as prices of products in their local shops. When they have completed a job they get paid.
The simplicity, the monetary reward for completing a job and the fact it is mobile means that it can be done by anyone in their spare time.
The information is processed automatically with field reports generated. The Agent is also rated not only for their accuracy but also for the timely manner in which they complete their allocated job.
We’re going to keep a close eye on this one because, if brands take to it, we think it could provide an invaluable tool and feed accurate and timely data into marketing strategies. It is also a way for us to keep an eye on ourselves, proactively checking our own field performance.

We love it when we spot somewhere we know in a film, a fleeting moment of fame for our local corner shop or the grand building on the way to work. This augmented reality app lets viewers see scenes from movies exactly where they were filmed. You can even get inside the film with the action!
It’s not live yet, but it will be coming to a street near you soon!

Ad agency ISOBEL has created a great new app for Grand Marnier which means there is no longer a need for the sun to take the perfect sunset picture.
The app provides options to manipulate new or existing images and is being launched in conjunction with the current Grand Marnier ad campaign – ‘Welcome to the Sunset Hour’. The campaign is aimed towards a younger, style-conscious audience through this fun user experience.

Tesco is making frustrating trips to the supermarket a thing of the past with a brand new app that creates an in-store map that pin-points the location of all the items on your shopping list. It works by finding the shortest distance between the products on your shopping list and creates a route for your trolley to follow. The app, which is currently in its trial stage, will be available on the open Android marketplace. Great idea Tesco, working hard to prove ‘Every Little Helps!’

Talk about being in the right place at the right time! A woman onboard a passenger flight from New York to Palm Beach managed to capture Space Shuttle Endeavor’s last launch on her iPhone and then went on to tweet about her experience. The pictures and a short video soon spread through the social media world like wildfire and appeared on CNN news, increasing her followers on twitter by 1000 in just a few hours.
Space shuttle launch images are a dime a dozen; however Stefanie Gordan’s experience is totally unique.
