As part of Samsung’s recent activity, to promote the new Galaxy Note, a small football pitch was erected in London’s Victoria station. After a tannoy announcement bellowed across the station that the pitch was open a few passers entered the fenced off area and started to mess about with the ball. Showing off their ball control talents to the gathering crowd. It soon transpired that these likely lads were more than just commuters and workmen, as they removed their outer layers to reveal football strips. A miniature match began with the help of a referee. The crowds obviously enjoyed the performance and with this video, which includes opportune moments captured on the Galaxy Note, now doing the rounds we’re interested to see what other activity Samsung has planned to try and get this new smartphone noticed.

To Celebrate the launch of their latest single “Underdog”, Kasabian have created a unique twist on the Guitar hero style of game. In a one off move they converted a 3 storey high West London warehouse into one massive game pad, got in a series of hot footballers and let them all loose on the freshly created “Football Hero”. Check out the vid below which explains it all a lot better than we ever could by writing alone:
We love the thought behind this and the way they have created such a unique event to get word of mouth out there about the single. Tuneful work from Sony Europe and Umbro.
Thanks to Creative Review for the heads up on this.

Samsung is hitting the right notes with Chelsea football fans with a new campaign aimed at creating an affinity between Samsung and Chelsea FC and demonstrating that the electronics giant is more than just a shirt sponsor. The campaign – called ‘Win When You’re Singing’ – harnesses fans’ passion for Chelsea and gives them a platform via the traditional football pastime of chanting for the club. On match days, choirs singing Chelsea football chants line the routes to Stamford Bridge and the Samsung ‘Win When You’re Singing’ crew is based at Britannia Gate where fans can get up and sing their favourite Chelsea chant on-stage for the camera and for the chance to win Samsung prizes. Performances are then up-loaded to a dedicated website where visitors can view, download, share and rate them.
