BEcause MD named “Female Entrepreneur of the Year”

We’re proud to announce that BEcause’s very own managing director Sharon Richey has been named “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” in BT Business’s annual Essence of the Entrepreneur competition.

Sharon is one of just 20 winning entrepreneurs selected from hundreds of entries from across the UK by a panel of judges which included Dragon’s Den star Peter Jones, BBC Radio 4’s Adam Shaw, Daily Mirror journalist Tricia Philips and John Dunsmere from the British Chambers of Commerce.

Sharon’s prize was to be photographed by world-renowed photographer Rankin for a special exhibition to be held at the gallery@oxo on London’s South Bank from 29^th January – 1^st March 2009.

BEcause wins two top business awards in one night

An amazing night for BEcause last night when we were named Pathfinder’s Media Employer of the Year 2008 and walked away with the People & Performance Award at the prestigious Growing Business Awards!

The Growing Business Awards – run by Real Business magazine and the CBI – are designed to recognise innovation and entrepreneurial spirit amongst Britain’s business community. Last night’s ceremony in Grosvenor Square, London attracted over 400 entrepreneurs and was hosted by Rt Hon William Hague.

Pathfinder’s Media Employer of the Year is the UK’s only annual award which recognises media companies’ ability to inspire and develop their employees. Now in its 10^th year, previous winners include Agency Republic, ZenithOptomedia, Penguin Books and Ogilvy & Mather. We beat off strong competition from several other leading PR, advertising and media companies to lift this year’s title.

Needless to say, we’re extremely proud to have won these two top accolades for our approach to people management and development. We’ve worked very hard to make sure that BEcause is a rewarding company to work for – whether as a full-time employee or a part-time Brand Ambassador in the field. Huge congratulations to everyone in the team for this amazing achievement!

BEcause Triumphs at GRAMIAs – Again!

We’re celebrating again today after being named “Brand Experience Agency of the Year” by The Grocer for the second year running.

What’s more, it’s the fourth time in five years that we’ve been named “Agency of the Year” in the annual Grocery Advertising and Marketing Industry Awards (GRAMIAs). We also won a Creative Award for our Yakult campaign entitled “Working on a Healthy Society”.

The Grocer is widely regarded as the ‘bible’ for the grocery industry. To win an Agency of the Year Award four times in five years is a fabulous achievement. It’s a testament to the strength of all the team here at BEcause. Well done to everyone!

We are delighted to announce that BEcause Experiential Marketing has beaten off stiff competition to be named ‘Brand Experience Agency of the Year’ at the 2007 GRAMIA Awards, organised by The Grocer. We also won the Golden GRAMIA for ‘Best Brand Experience’ for our Superdrug Backstage campaign.

This latest awards success comes just a few weeks after scooping ‘Experiential Marketing Agency of the Year’ at the inaugural Impact Awards, supported by Marketing and P&I.

And to round off a memorable month, we also picked up two Awards at the Brand Experience Awards, including Runner Up for a third ‘Experiential Agency of the Year’ title.
