Notorious brewing revolutionaries, Brewdog (we think they would be proud of that title) have recently launched their latest in a line of beers, Tactical Nuclear Penguin. Keeping with their theme of launching off mainstream, quirky and unique products Nuclear Penguin tops the lineup with an intense 32%abv. In fact at 32% it is the worlds strongest beer, though coming in at a weighty £30 a pop it probably won’t be a regular drink of choice for most of us on a night out.
Apparently it is best served in “spirit sized measures”, understandably. Now we just need to find the worlds strongest painkillers to go with the hangover afterwards. Check out the BrewDog website for some of their other funky Beers, including the likes of Trashy Blonde and Hardcore IPA.

Feeling inspired and creative after reading the brilliant “Kemp-Folds” blog, we set about our very own challenge: To create the most interesting picture fold possible of the head of BEcause’s suitably named Account Director, Katie Penfold. The rules to the game are simple, take a print out of someones face (in this case Katie), fold it into an amusing format, done. The whole team got involved mustering all the energy you would expect to rise to such a challenge, with some fantastic entries that you can see below.
After much debate and some tough arguing between the judges, it was decided that first prize (a 330ml can of ice cold Sprite) would go to Nico Daude for his daring and inventive take on the “Pen-Fold”. You can see a large version below.
When asked how he felt about winning the competition our resident French Account Manager Nico commented, “I take my inspiration from many places in life, zis morning I saw someone with a squished face on ze tube. When I had the chance to recreate zis in a Pen-fold I just let my hands do ze work for me.” Highly commended awards also went out to Meredith Williams, Dorothee Olivereau, and an unnamed entrant we are still tracing.

Always good to catch our creative team trying out new ideas, in this case literally trying to get inside the heads of our brand’s characters. Groundbreaking.

Stella Artois in New York are splashing life in to wall painting as part of its latest art/advertising campaign. The ritual project is a series of 21 images painted over 21 days on a giant brick wall, with the finished effect at the end planned as a stop motion video of the perfect pour (all be it on a huge scale). So far we are 14 days and counting in to the action, with each day bringing a the task of covering up the previous image, repainting the wall, then stepping back to admire all the teams hard work.
The really neat touch to this campaign comes from the follow-up work around the edges, with telescope viewpoints placed strategically around the area to help passers-by get a close in view on the live experience. This is combined with the dedicated website giving bite sized history on the lost art of wall painting and other areas. If you take a look through the online pages you can see day by day updates of how far they have got in video format, or if you have a bit more time check out the journal section which goes lots of great background on the progress. Rather than just reading here about it though head on over to The Ritual Project and have a look for yourself!
