We’re proud to announce that BEcause’s very own managing director Sharon Richey has been named “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” in BT Business’s annual Essence of the Entrepreneur competition.
Sharon is one of just 20 winning entrepreneurs selected from hundreds of entries from across the UK by a panel of judges which included Dragon’s Den star Peter Jones, BBC Radio 4’s Adam Shaw, Daily Mirror journalist Tricia Philips and John Dunsmere from the British Chambers of Commerce.
Sharon’s prize was to be photographed by world-renowed photographer Rankin for a special exhibition to be held at the gallery@oxo on London’s South Bank from 29th January – 1st March 2009.

Games manufacturer Hasbro created an experiential installation at December’s The Style Show (part of Clothes Show Live) to showcase ‘Partini’, its entertaining new party game for adults. ‘The Partini Lounge’ contained a 480m² bar and lounge area designed in the style of the Partini branding. Partini Brand Advisors dressed in chic outfits welcomed fashionistas to the lounge and explained the rules of the game before encouraging them to play.

Sharpie, the makers of permanent markers, has opened in-store ‘Try and Buy’ test centres in Office Depot stores across the US, to encourage shoppers to experience the full Sharpie range. Shoppers will be encouraged to doodle with Sharpies whilst picking up tips on using the markers.

Sony Pictures is promoting the DVD launch of its hit comedies such as The House Bunny and Pineapple Express with an experiential tour of British universities. The ‘Laughing Stock’ tour will invite students into Bluetooth booths where they can download mobile content from the films and receive film branded merchandise and goody bags. In addition, life-size cut-outs of a variety of film characters will be placed in student union buildings with selected universities running screenings of the films.

Electronics giant Samsung recently created a series of experiential ‘Colour Parties’ across South Africa to promote its new range of superior office printers. Selected venues were transformed into several zones, including brightly coloured boxing and paintball zones, designed to reflect the different capabilities of the printers. Guests were also treated to a performance by world-renowned speed painter Jean Francois Detialle.
